Casa da Urra



«Casa da Urra» wines are produced in Herdade do Carvalhal, Urra, a picturesque little village, a stone’s throw away from Portalegre, Alentejo where the scorching plains of Alentejo, are refreshed by the breeze from S. Mamede mountains.
It is a privilege region, known for the quality of its wines, the nature of its terrains, the knowledge of its people, the right choice of native casts and a particular weather, that dictates this excellence.
The vineyard virtually abandoned in 2007, was bought by its present wine producer, Dr. Cândido Ferreira, is almost thirty hectares in size.
The white wine is produced with: Antão Vaz, Arinto, Verdelho and Muscatel casts, the latter being the one which gives it a fruity flavour that the fans describe as sophisticated, even unforgettable.

The red wines have: Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Aragonese and Alicante Bouchet casts, these are being selected by the oenologist Paolo Nigra, who is responsible for the quality of these two products.
A long-time lover of popular art, the producer wants, through this wine, to reflect the best of the Alentejo soul. The label, very unique, was inspired by local handmade ceramic art. It is only a mere detail that reveals the care with which the wine is produced from the treatment of the soil to the grapevine, the grape harvest, the conversion, placement and bottling of the wine.
No detail is neglected, the vinification being made at the Herdade da Calada, which is equipped with the most up to date technology and highly qualified human resources. This is how “Casa da Urra” wines will be among the best in the world. Veja mais

Herdade do Arrepiado Velho



Located in Sousel, this estate has 33 hectares of vines planted in a total of 100 hectares. These are characterized by stunning surroundings, where you experience a sight of the vast area of Olive growing, a reservoir and were cattle rearing takes place. The soils of the Velho Arrepiado are rich in shale and clay, resulting in exceptional wines. The Wine ‘Fosco Rosé’ 2007 received in the Challenge International du Vin the silver Medal.
Under construction is the Wine Cellar, a project of Architects Tiago Sobral and Ricardo Stubner Lucas, which combine design, technology and innovation in a modern and functional space. The Cellar will include a panoramic restaurant, such as an auditorium and a laboratory. See more

Quinta do Picoto



Among the characteristic flora of the pleasant Douro is the Picoto estate. Founded in 1978, this farm is located in S. Joao da Pesqueira, nestled on the slopes of River Torto, an afluent of the River Douro. Its vast vineyards rest on cliffs of shale, resulting in production of wines of excellence that obtain the best awards in the world. In 2008 at the Wine Masters Challenge competition, the Estate won the Gold Medal for the Wine ‘Portal do Picoto Reserva’ 2004. In the 2009 edition of the same competition, Quinta do Picoto obtained for the Wine ‘Portal do Picoto Reserva 2005 the silver Medal and for the Wine ‘Quinta das Canadas’ 2006, the bronze Medal. Quinta das Torres de Oliveira




Surrounded by the panorama of the Douro River and vineyards planted in ground with striking inclination, is the Quinta das Torres de Oliveira. In a remarkable and impressive XVIII century manor house the port wine is revealed. Grown on the rustic property's farmhouse, it results in a built-in wine with characteristic flavours of the Douro and an intense flavour of ripe fruit with well balanced wood. You can stay overnight in this unique building, enjoying the treasures Douro and rest in this unique nature. See more

Quinta Vale Fornos



The Vale de Fornos estate is located in the municipality of Azambuja. With 200 acres, of which 70 are vineyards, the Estate has unique characteristics. Positioned in fertile soils with quite pronounced clay-limestone slopes, which contrast the traditional plaines that characterize the region of Ribatejo, their wines are very distinctive. Rich in history this farm was built by Dª Antonia Ferreira (Ferreirinha) who offered it to her daughter at the time of her marriage to the 3rd Earl of Azambuja.
It is said that this property had housed the troops of Napoleon during the French invasions, and that Columbus passed, on his way to the house of D. John II in Paradise Valley, its vineyards to announce to the King the discovery of America.

Quinta Santo António do Serrado




Santo Antonio do Serrado Estate is located in Vilar Seco, Nelas, in the heart of the demarcated region of Dão, where wine tradition is a way of life since centuries. The Wines grow on the sunny slopes of the southern part of the estate of seven hectares, and produce an opulent and velvety wine which won its first international award for quality in the 1876 World Exposition in Philadelphia. More recently, ‘Touriga Nacional’ 2000 received the Gold Medal on the 4th edition of "Wine Expo" in Portugal. This estate is in the hands of the same family since the end of the seventeenth century, and their cellar dates back to 1741. Its wines are aged in the traditional French way, in oak barrels, but the method of production and bottling was completely modernized, producing a wine that, while maintaining its unique characteristics, up to the highest standards of quality is suitable for all wine lovers. Quinta das Lamelas



The handsome estate is located in the striking Douro Region and was founded in 1836. It is a family company, linked to the vineyards and winemaking since long time. The vineyards of Lamelas Estate are about 22 hectares wide and planted with traditional Portuguese varieties of grapes. The Wine production is made in small quantities using traditional methods, obtaining therefore an excellent and exclusive wine.

Quinta do Carneiro



Situated in the grounds of Alenquer, extending between the winding line of clay-limestone hills of the Montejunto mountain and the alluvial fields of the right bank of the Tagus river, this farm is dedicated since many generations to the careful administration of the generous offers of the local nature. The Carneiro Estate has an area of about 50 hectares, arranged in a gently sloping hillside. Their wine 'Pactus Touriga Nacional' won the gold medal in the competition of wines ACIC 2009 and Bronze Medal in the "Challenge du Vin" 2009. See more
