Quinta do Portal considered the best wine tourism twice

The Warehouse for Ageing Wines designed by the portuguese architect Siza Vieira has been distinguished with great prizes over the past few weeks.

The portuguese guide Boa Cama, Boa Mesa 2012 (Great Bed, Great Table), a prestigious guidebook of the best hotels and restaurants in Portugal compilated by the Expresso newspaper, has attributed the award of "Best Wine Tourism" to Casa das Pipas, unity of oenotourism of the wine producer at Quinta do Portal.

By the same time, also Great Wine Capitals Global Network competition has given the prize "Best of Wine Tourism" to this wonderful complex, in a ceremony that has taken place in Mainz, Germain, in the category of Architecture and Landscape. The Jury decided that the warehouse of ageing wines has a "stunning profile with a touch of contemporaine architecture, being well integrated in the marvelous scenariou of the Douro Valley". Also, he highlights "the ecologic value of the builing" and considers it "a touristic attraction of excellence for the ones who visit Douro".
