Placed near the seaside of Albufeira, Vila Joya restaurant is supervised by the austriac chef Dieter Koschina. Lover of the portuguese gastronomy and known by travelling in his Harley Davidson by the coast of Algarve, he is responsible for the organisation of an anual meeting of world wide awarded chefs.
Having achieved the 79th place of The World's 50 Best Restaurants in the past year, Vila Joya has now been considered the 45th best restaurant in the world by the same competition, organised by the Restaurant Magazine. The World's 50 Best Restaurant 's list is an annual snapshot of the opinions and experiences of over 800 international restaurant industry experts. What constitutes "best" is left to the judgment of these trusted and well-travelled gourmets. Today, this competition is only compared to the french guide Michelin, another gastronomic competition that has recently nominated Vila Joya restaurant with two stars.
